Why Everyone is Needed

Location: Our church auditorium
632 11th Street
Astoria, Oregon 97103

God’s love is for everyone, and a Christian Science lecture is a perfect setting to learn about God’s love and the healing that it brings.

You are invited to this free one-hour lecture where you will hear about why our unbreakable connection to God, infinite Love, gives us permanent worth and purpose. It lifts us from dark times to healing and progress.

The perspective of this lecture comes from the example of Christ Jesus in the Bible and Mary Baker Eddy’s book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, which explains the teaching and healing done by Christ Jesus in terms people can understand and repeat today.

In his presentation, Mr. Shepherd will illustrate his talk with examples of healing, achieved through the application of prayer as taught by Christ Jesus.

James graduated from college with a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, but realized that serving as a Christian Science healer was the best way he could serve others. He left the ranch and took up the full-time work of helping others find healing through prayer. Thirty years later, he still loves this work as much as ever.

James Shepherd is a Christian Science practitioner and a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship. He travels internationally from his home in Eugene, Oregon, to speak to audiences about Christian Science healing.
